West Coast Teachers

Meet Your Teachers

Ms. Kaestner: This is my 2nd year teaching in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District.  I love reading, playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.  My biggest passion, aside from teaching, is the Green Bay Packers.  Go Pack Go!  One of my goals for this year is to ignite a passion in your child that will drive growth in reading and writing.

Mr. Miller: This is my 3rd year teaching in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District.  I am married to Brooke Miller, a nurse at Children’s Hospital.  We have a son named Jackson, who is almost 2 years old and we are expecting our second child, a girl, in early November.  My favorite sports teams are the New York Rangers and Arsenal Football Club (soccer).  When I’m not teaching, I love to be outdoors hiking, biking, and enjoying nature.

Mr. Napoli: Hello and welcome to 6th grade at Lane.  This is my 9th year teaching and 3rd year teaching middle school math.  I got my bachelors and graduate degree from UW- La Crosse.  I am married to Ericka and have a 3-month old son Leo, and a cat named Dusty.  We like to spend time together outdoors, going to sporting events, and listening to music.  My hope is that your child becomes a better problem-solver and continues to grow in all areas of their lives.

Mrs. Ostrowski:  This is my 16th year of teaching in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District. Previously, I taught at Lincoln Intermediate School and Lincoln Elementary.  I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Special Education from UW-Whitewater and my master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University. I have been married to my husband Jason for 10 years and we have two sons: Zachary who is 5 1/2 years old and Noah who is turning 1 at the end of September. I am proud to call my new home Lane Intermediate and excited for the year of learning ahead of all of us!

Ms. Xiong:  My name is Ka Xiong and I’ll be your child’s math teacher for the remainder of the year. I completed my student teaching here at Lane Intermediate and student taught in Mr. Dooley’s math class.  I absolutely loved my student teaching experience here, and I was thrilled when I was hired as a West Coast math teacher shortly after.  I obtained my bachelor’s degree in education from UW-Milwaukee with two minors in math and social studies.  I look forward to working with you and your child.

Mr. Gartmann:  I am excited to be an intern at Lane Intermediate for second semester.  I will be working alongside the wonderful staff at Lane to ease into the role of teaching Science for the West Coast team.  In 2013 I finished my bachelor’s degree in biology at UW-Stevens Point, and I am currently working towards my master’s degree at Cardinal Stritch University.  My goal for the year is to make science engaging and fun so that curiosity will fuel future student learning.  A few of my favorite activities include campfires, setting up aquariums and hiking.
