Back to School

We started our Morning Base Group with an exciting realization.  Two months from today, our scholars will be on their first day of Summer vacation.  We then continued on by informing them we have two months left of school!

These last two months will fly by!  We have a lot going on in April and May.

This is directly from Mr. Henry’s portion of the Lane Newsletter:

We will have our Human Growth and Development courses on April 14th and April 15th. Information was sent home as well as a phone call informing you of this course. Please call if you have any questions.

Badger state testing will begin April 20th and the testing window will be open until May 8th. It is important that your scholar(s) is at school during this time. We want to be sure that we offer the best test taking environment that we possibly can.

MAP testing will also be taking place until May 15th. Please encourage your scholar(s) to try his/her very best. Please make sure they eat breakfast during these testing days or have them stop by the cafeteria for a breakfast treat.

School Pics will be here on April 16th to take spring pictures. Forms will be sent home if you would like to purchase spring pictures.

We have our WAWM School Board Presentation on Monday, April 27th. Please come out that night to support Lane if you are available.

The Band/Orchestra/Choir Spring Concert will be held at Lane on Monday, May 18th at 7:00pm.

Additionally, 7th grade programming sheets went home before Spring Break.  We have additional paper copies of these in the office.  Here is a digital version if you want to print it yourself.

Please keep checking in with your students on iTunesU.  It is crucial that all scholars end the year on a high note and get all their work done well.  As always, each week scholars have 2 Achieve articles to complete, a NoRedInk quiz and 2 Ten Marks!

Any questions — feel free to email!

Spring Break Assignments

Spring Break is here!

With the 4th quarter just one week in, it’s important all scholars are up to date.

For Balanced Literacy:

Each student should have 62 Achieve articles done.

Each student should have completed their NoRedInk Colon Quiz.

For Math:

Each student has 2 Ten Marks they must complete over break.

For Science:

Each student had a Forecasting Presentation and Checklist.

Many completed theirs yesterday and today.

Some students did not have this done.

For Social Studies:

Each student had a CER and inquiry assignment.

Many students have this done as well.

If your scholar is bored over break, please suggest some independent reading!  We went to the library yesterday, and everyone had the opportunity to check out a book.  As always, they can work ahead on Achieve and TenMarks too if they’d like!

Have a safe and happy break!

On Wisconsin!
